Re: OSX Demo
wow. it seems that they forgot that it depends on the SDL library. you'll have to download that from http://www.libsdl.org/ . then the demo should work. :P
Heh, thanks 13th. :) Also, it seems they didn't forge…

OSX Demo I read its pimping on MGF and grabbed the OSX demo, but when double clicking or cmd-o opening the application, next to nothing happens. Has anyone else noticed this problem? I'm hesitant to re-dl the app when I'm paying 4.4¢ per mb, at the…

Addendum The Apple page I found the link on was one of a number of pages in a Mac shareware article they've drafted. A worthwhile read for those strapped for cash, like me, and interested in creative/nostalgic gaming, like me again. :) -Cob PS: I…

...for letting you all know that I just discovered John Calhoun's (of Glider Pro (and Glider, I guess) fame) Glypha III was ported to OSX in February. Fortunately, I only discovered this morning, or 2003 would have become a year of doing nothing but…

Re: Americas Army It seems pretty damn enticing, but the system reqs are a bit out of my ball park -- G3900mhz/256mb. :( Though I must say, the price is right inside it. :) What sort of system are you running it on, Croak?

I'm sure we've had threads like this in the last 6 months, but my memory is...well. Sorry for bringing up an old topic and being too lazy to search the forum. :) Are any of us playing any games (preferably xplat) which they recommend the rest of us…

But don't you love... ...watching high school kids drawing swords over which console is the 'bestest'? :) As far as rational thought goes the war is over, and was never really 'on', but from ages 12 to 18, they rage violently, and always will. Sam…

Console wars don't die, they just get more amusing Heh, I have to start regularly visiting PA again. It's weird having come through a fan boy console war (Mega Drive/Genesis v SNES/Super Famicon) and a similar platform war, only to see the …

BB is a bad man Don't bate fools, you sili young man. :) Gilbert, the fact that the game was originally released for the XBox is, uh, irrelevant to the quality of the game. I'm sure we could find some god awful PSX titles if we had the time to loo…

I forgot you bought a PC! I've been hoping a Mac port for Homeworld shows up for some time now. When I saw your post's title, Free, I thought one may have evaded my (very) occasional perusals of the Sierra site and various soon to be released Mac…

Re: Worms3D demo
PC only (Haven't all the Worms games been?) but it looks like a fun little game so I figured I'd throw a mention up.
Worms Blast most definitely has a Mac version, IMG is probably still pimping it, and the …

Ok, I'm looking forward to its release Typically, I'm starting to have fun with it when I experience my first crash. Thankfully this is only a tech demo. ;) I think I just had to deal with not having played any actual CRPGs besides tacky MUDs in th…

Re: More encouragement required :) (Quote) That's what I always thought before waking up one afternoon in late November last year and learning I'd scared the absolute hell out of my dearest friends and family a month and a bit earlier. Well, I _thin…

Re: More encouragement required :) (Quote) np. I've gone into that sort of territory before myself. It's not much fun when you first realise what you said, and who you said it to. I understood the metaphor though. I've been pulled up myself by clos…

Gah (Quote) I daren't test this iBook's luck after reading over the requirements. It failed Jedi Knight's video card with 32mb of VRAM "requirement" in the playability stakes rather dramatically. It was like playing Myth with a ping of 1.1…

Score! I'm converted chumbo. Guess I'll grab the tech demo and see if it even works for me after all that. :) -Cob

More encouragement required :) (Quote) Herein lies the problem. I look for this sort of quality when I fear that I'm becoming too drawn in, find too many, and quit. Skeep will attest to this. (Quote) Can we define inappropriate for our good friend E…

Re: NWN Tech Demo After various run ins with MUDs that have collectively devoyered close to half a year of my life, I've been trying to stay a fair distance from multiplayer RPGs fearing being sucked into them 24/7. I've heard far too many good th…

I can see this feature offending the unimaginative very quickly. ;) Yes, in the Sims 2, we'll be able to see a score of individual Sims. Funky. More exciting, in my eyes is, the addition of genetics. Almost time to start the super race of Cob child…

Ok, we already know I suck ;) (Quote) When I said Mac only, I of course mean there are Windows (98/SE/ME/2000/XP) and, how the hell did I miss this(?), Linux versions as well. Word from the wise: crank your mouse sensitivity up as far as it can go.…

Grabbed it last night, and having a good bit of fun. "Smart" action title using the Torque engine. Mac only at the moment, but nevertheless, it's pretty fun. Also, as it's Torque, a PC port may pop up sooner or later. You basically roam …

Re: Huh, that's odd (Quote) Time to get back to fully researching something prior to slamming it, I guess. I'll have to play through the game myself and revise my thoughts. -Cob

Whilst bored during Easter break, I began watching my sister playing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell on her PSX2, and let's just say that for someone who is extremely unkeen on censorship of any form at all, I was disgusted. The heart of my issue is the…
