I just wanted to let you know that I cannot connect to CPHL with
zombie anymore. 1.5+ works fine, although I try not to use it.
Did you upgrade to 1.8.5 server software? There are issues with
zombie and a few other third party clients with the
"latest" server...
This is all pretty wierd. They (the makers of Zombie) are obviously not following the protocol properly. My bot, which has a small subset of the protocol implemented, doesn't seem to have any problems connecting. And the protocol guide I used was based on newly discovered 1.5 additions (although for all intents and purposes it could be considered a 1.2.x bot). My 1.2.3 client works fine, too.
One thing about the protocol that developers may overlook is the fact that transaction objects can be passed in any order, so if they're expecting a certain order and don't receive it from the server (maybe the new Hotline servers are mixing things up in some attempt to bust non-Hotline clients, who knows), then the client will break.
That's just one thing that might be going wrong. But the server's not doing anything wrong.

Zombie is created for HXD and not for "real" hotline servers, but using hotline in X is not good (and hotline has an inferior interface compared to zombie)

All interface discussions aside, if Zombie's not created to the Hotline protocol spec, then I'm not surprised it doesn't work with Hotline servers. You shouldn't be surprised either. 8)

Oh it does, just not with 1.8.5 Hence I cant log into CPHL with my login script. I wonder of FB works with CPHL.
Anyhow. We at subnova (hl.subnova.com) have a little problem with your game tracker and since I already am posting here I thought I add this too:

I got those right after I tried to announce a new game. Also the bot doesent seem to announce any new games at our place and yes, both "chat" and "get info" are enabled. Hope that helps... Oh and while I am on it, I was wondering if we could change the name (at least of the login that shows up on our server) less boring and give it an icon of our iconset?

Yes, both of those messages will be sent at the same time if the bot hasn't obtained your IP address yet. The bot logs all usage to file, including your IP, so I can lock out people who fuxor with it.
Now, if you wait a second or two and then send that command a second time, does it still give you that error?

That's on purpose. The bot went silent because of the abuse. I can easily turn on the chat again, if you wish. You can have it set to announce any or all of: new game, game open, game closed, game over, game notes edited.

What would you like the name to be?
What icon # do you want the bot to have?
Test both beforehand (make sure the name fits & the icon number is correct) and I can change the config file and restart the bot when your iconset is released.
Right now the bot has only two "admin" style commands (top secret!). In the future I can add more to it, to get the bot to change its icon or name, or say something in chat, or whatever.
But I won't add that in until the bot gets more functionality.
And thanks for your help in tracking down any bugs!
