On the Clanplaid WWII page, there is a screenshot of a WWII unit BC game (on Raid). In the lower right corner, there is OMG A MAC CURSOR!!! I implore Clanplaid to devulge how they took a screenshot of a game on a mac. No one has been able to tell me so far. And, to all PC users, the "Print Screen/SysRQ" button does nothing.

Snapz Pro, and you don't even have to have the cursor showing. :) There might be other ways, but Snapz is by far the best, it can even capture movies in Myth.

    Simple

Go to www.versiontracker.com and search for SnapzPro. If you use a 3dfx card, you may want to use GlideHack instead since it's freeware.

i think all newer mac OSes have a built feature also.

    shift apple 4

will give you a crosshair...which you then use to select the region you wish to take a picture of.

unfortunately, i believe that you have to be in a windowed mode to use this function.

Well, for Myth I and II, if using software or rave, you can do it with the built in software... first you need to enable background tasks in Myth...

to enable background tasks, in chat (room or pre/post game), hit

    (myth 1) shift-, (comma)

    (myth 2) ctrl-shift-, (comma)

    enables background tasks.

then start up the game or start up your game recording that you want to take a screen shot of...

Then hit apple-shift-3 to take a screen shot. I think apple-shift-4 will work to take a section of the screen shot (cursor will change to a crosshair, drag a rectangle of what you want to snap, then release)

to disable background tasks, in chat (room or pre/post game), hit

    (myth 1) shift-. (period)

    (myth 2)ctrl-shift-. (period)

this will allow you take screen shots in software and rave, but not voodoo.

now, to get pretty pictures like the one you posted, you gotta use voodoo. Myth and Myth II looks best in voodoo. You'll need a voodoo card and glidehack, which you can snag from here...

glidehack is what I used for the titan/recon screen shots that were posted for promotion and such, as well as the movies I made at the time as well. With glidehack you set up a button or key combo to take screen shots or start and stop recording a movie, and you don't need to enable background tasks.

I haven't used snapzpro, so I can't comment on it. If you have voodoo, you'll want to go with glidehack. Otherwise the built in screen capture can work...
