Greetings ladies and gentlemen,

Long have I been interested in Blood on the Clocktower as a game for gatherings and now that it is finally out I have delved deeply into the tools for running games of BotC online using Zoom. For those of you who do not already know, BotC is a social deduction game in the vein of the Werewolf. In BotC, players all have special roles, both beneficial and deleterious, and even in death they can tip the scales between good and evil.

I would like to try and organize a game among CP. The game is easy to learn and very flexible with the number of people who can play and almost ideally suited for online play. If anyone is interested in playing, please contact (doug.rusch@gmail.com), comment on the clan plaid general discussion thread, or under the board games category on discord. Once I have an idea of how many people might be interested, I will work with everyone to schedule a beginners game. Feel free to invite family (and maybe friends) just keep in mind that you have to be able to play where other players can't overhear you.

Online Board Games

Howdy!

While we're all doing our best to stay at home, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing some board games online. This is more about just hanging out than playing anything too serious.

Steam has built in voice that works pretty good - and has a number of board games. I have Ascension, Carcassonne, Gloom, Love Letter, Pandemic, Scythe, Terraforming Mars, Ticket To Ride First Journey, and Twilight Struggle. I also have Tabletopia, but not sure what's playable on there. There is of course a zillion other board games available online as well not on Steam. I would be willing to pick up others as well.

Thoughts? For me, Wednesday evening could be a good night to do this (possibly Sunday evening as well). I am pacific time zone - and would be available 6:30pm-ish and later.

Heya everyone, I wanted to stop in and say hi. I don't do message boards too much but for those of you who see me in game, I may not have had a chance to introduce myself. My name is Steve and I am active duty Navy. I have recently been promoted to Chief Petty Officer. I came to WoW and to CP through one of your old guildies you all may know as Trufflepig. I know him as Dave. Dave is a relatively quiet and self reserved individual. He and I were both E6s and met onboard the USS JOHN S. McCAIN homeported in Yokosuka Japan. I was doing an unaccompanied tour there...that means, without my family members. The Navy says people who do tours without there family do it by choice and as such give up their right for lodging. So I had to live on the ship. Dave was kind enough to offer me a place to crash and play WoW while the ship was in homeport. We developed a good friendship and one I hope to keep over the years. I just got back to the states and am stationed at US Strategic Command, Offutt AFB Nebraska. I have three children, Emily, Hannah and Logan. I just built a rocking PC and am ready to WoW hard! I will be on a lot unless it is my weekend with the kids.

As far as WoW goes, I am not too bright. Dave helped me work up Whyenone to level 80 fast so we could group and I learned a lot. But as we hit our major deplyment period and Dave left WoW on return, I canceled my account as well. So not only was I green when I started, I am more so now with all the changes. So as I talk to you and something I say screams NOOB, it is true, I am. But I do know what love is. I went on line and did some research on shadow and discipline sets and have a build done and have run through heroics as both. Healing is too busy for me and I tend to watch player bars too much and end up standing in crap and not moving when I should so...I don't like it but will do it if we need. I prefer shadow and no one has complained yet that I am doing something wrong. Feel free to holla at me in game. See you all around

Need advice on new TV purchase

I've never really kept up to date on developments in LCD/Plasma technology, and it would make me feel dirty to take some Best Buy employee's advice. But our massive projection TV (hand-me-down) died recently and the loss is keenly felt in the room. I had heard that plasma technology dims greatly with time, then heard that they've fixed that problem almost completely...

Anyway, looking for general advice from those who like to keep in the loop or have made a recent purchase. Budget is tight right now so we're looking at the value end of things - a little (but not tiny) screen that fits above a fireplace and can be seen clearly from across a small room. Anything in the 300-600 dollar range that is a good bang for the buck would be ideal. At that size and price range should I be looking for LCD or plasma? Any standout brands or features that are worth insisting on?

I've asked a few people on CPHL, but came up with a goose egg, so here's a more general broadcast.

I was wondering if anyone has an old or unused copy of OS X Server 10.5, or someone who will have one after they upgrade to Snow Leopard Server. Or, alternatively, someone who has an unlimited license of OS X Server Snow Leopard. (BC tells me that I can use a code from an unlimited license to install Server 10.5)

I have a G5 that I would like to repurpose (eventually) to act as an e-mail/Web/SVN/etc. box, and it can't take Snowy since it's Intel-only.

I'm trying to recall the website and/or name to a particular method of capturing bolts of electricity in a resin/polymer to be sold as art. I seem to recall that it had some proper name attached to it. I came across it a few years ago and now I'm having the darnedest time recalling or finding it. The electricity would form these beautiful 3D trees in the resin, precisely preserving the look of the bolt from that one instant in time.

Any help?
