Falken and I started playing Demigod when they had a 50% off sale on the $40 game. So far it has been worth every penny and is the closest thing I have seen in some time to Myth.

Has anyone else tried it?

I suggest getting the demo and playing around some. It has a fair amount of solo play value and you can play online before deciding to purchase. The game is not without its flaws but I think it would be a great gathering game.

return of board (and card) game night

We have so much fun with the board/card games at the gatherings, so why not try to do this when we're not gathering? We tried this in the past, but attendance was low, and it never really got going too well, but after talking with Mori and Garu at MWG, we thought it would be worthwhile to try again.

Most likely once a month. Not sure if we want to try a set night or rotate it around.

For Dominion, this site works really well, you play within a browser window and it has all the expansions and it seems to work pretty good, at least as good as BSW, better in some ways, but it is mostly text based. http://dominion.isotropic.org/

For Race For The Galaxy, this location http://www.keldon.net/rftg/ has a client you can download. You can then play locally vs the computer (the computer is *very* tough, especially when playing against 3 computer opponents), or you can sign into the server and play against others (or combination of real and computer opponents).

For other games (Power Grid, Carcassonne, Thurn and Taxis and many others), there is still BSW that can be used.

Probably some other sites for other games that I'm not aware of too.

We would probably want to all hop on voice chat to make things easier, but we can try to organize that once we have our first night set up.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hailz! I wrapped up Fallout3 recently. (great game) and reinstalled MW4. Can it still be played online?

Could we set up a server of our Own? Does anyone feel like playing it?

I wanted a game that has ONE guy you control that doesn't run around like crazy as in most FPSers.

Fallout3 and MW4 both fit the bill.

This is all reading very familiar...as if from an old dream.

Now, I didn't read much into the legal ramifications of Bungie's split from Microsoft, but I was under the impression the Redmond machine would keep the rights to Halo. Whatever the case, I haven't been this excited about a nebulous game rumour since first hearing about Myth.

Age of Conan Open Beta

Seems like the release date of May 20th will hold up for this game as it has been pushed back several times.

On May 1st they will be granting 50,000 people beta access if you are a subscriber to fileplanet and one other website, I forget.

City building(albeit instanced), sieges and decapitations are all nice features .

Warhammer is the other big title but that's near the end of this year currently so people will have a chance to get their fill of AoC before having to decide whether to move to the next title.

Guitar Hero 3

So, any plaid (or FoP or people who look at this website) got the game? I have it in Wii, my first Guitar Hero game, some of the songs are fun, some not as much. Made my way thru career mode on Medium, and now getting close to done on Hard. Expert in general doesn't look that much tougher than hard, but some songs are going to be a doosey - that's for sure.

Wouldn't mind trying to play online, but looks like it's Wii to Wii only.

ECG Gaming Ideas

Hey guys (and gals) I was interested in tossing out some ideas for this year's ECG.
Last year it seemed most of us stuck to Warcraft and had a few games of Myth and even fewer of Guitar Hero.
This year I was curious if anyone would be interested in a console night. A few years back when Freewill came
down we did a Halo 2 night and had everyone playing. It was a grand time, so I was looking to maybe have another.

Since Burnout and myself live so close to Eph, we have talked about bringing our 360's, copies of Halo 3, Call of Duty 4,
and Gears of War and a TV or two. We can provide the TV's but what we can't provide are the Xbox 360's and controllers
we'd need to pull off a 16 person system-link.

So just a show of hands to how many would be interested and could possibly bring 360's, controllers and an extra
copy or two of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

Also we will have Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 this year, but who cares about Guitar Hero 3 when you'd got the band!?

How Do You Like Your 360?

Hey fellas. I'm still trying to get a working Windows download of Hotline, but for now I'm posting from work so it makes no difference anyway. :>

I'm finally considering buying another game console in the near future (within the next few months). However, I've been WAY out of touch with the console gaming community -- ever since my PS2 broke almost two years ago. Yeah, I'm still deciding whether a PS3 or a 360 is in the cards.

My gut is telling me to go with the XBOX 360, mainly because I know a few others who have it -- and I'm sure plenty of you guys also own them. Part of me is itching to play Rock Band again (I played it at New Year's over my brother's house when his friend brought it over), but I'm in no rush to dump a combined $600 or so on either console and the game package.

How happy have you guys who own a 360 been with the purchase? I've heard some stories about the maturity level on XBOX LIVE (basically the same crap as in PC gaming, except people seem more likely to use microphones to portray it? :P), but how is the quality of the game library outside Halo 3 and ... uh, that's actually all I know about.
